Increase your Computer’s Performance
Uncategorized June 19th, 2007Whether you are running a Mac computer or one of the many Microsoft Windows operating systems, the basic functions of the whole computer stays the same. Even though Windows users sometimes do get frustrated when they have to be switched to a Mac computer and vice versa, many elements of the computer are identical. For example, the performance of both Mac computers as well as Windows Operating System computers depends on the amount of hard drive that’s included, the CPU speed, and the amount of RAM one has, all compared to how much work the computer user is actually trying to force the computer to do.
A perfect example of how the computer’s performance can be run down involves the internet and several other computer applications running all at once. For example, if more than one type of internet browser is up with multiple browser screens, along with several other computer applications, like Microsoft Word and Excel among others, all while downloading songs from Kazaa, Shareaza, and LimeWire, all of these things will work together to decrease the effectiveness and overall performance of the computer. However, if you experience sluggishness of the computer’s performance during this time then your best bet would be to close out some of the programs and see if that helps. In fact, many people assume that their computer will run all of the programs that they tell it to at optimum speed, while this is simply not true.
One important step you could take to increase your computer’s performance and CPU speed would be to clean up your computer on a daily basis. Cleaning up your computer essentially means going through all the files and programs that are on your computer and getting rid of the ones that you no longer need. Also, making backups is not a bad idea for your computer, either, because then you can also re-install your Operating System every once in a while so you don’t get bogged down with data. Many computer experts suggest creating a backup of your computer anyway, so this will allow you to re-install your Windows version faster and easier!
As you can see, there are many things that you can do to increase the performance of your computer. Routine maintenance, however, is the best preventive medicine you could ever give your computer to not only increase the speed, but to keep it at the optimum performing level!
